The daughter of Nigeria's business mogul,Chief Michael Adeojo (founder of Elizade Group),Adeola Sagoe is one of the highly celebrated haute couture fashion designers from Nigeria that has attained and maintained as internationally accepted brand. An Ondo-state indigene, Sagoe, founded The House of Deola in 1989 in Lagos,Nigeria. Her brand celebrates the inherent,ethnic glamour found in local African fabrics and hand-woven materials.

Adeola Sagoe studied at the prestigious University of Miami and University of Lagos for her Masters in Finance and Management. Married to Kofi Sagoe-a Ghanian-which the couple later separated due to irreconcilable differences. She has three daughters Teni, Aba and Tiwa. Her daughters recently float their fashion line named "CLAN" thanks to the love of fashion inherited from their mother.

Adeola Sagoe has entrepreneurship in her gene,coming from a prominent family of Nigerian entrepreneurs and owners of Elizade Group,originally started by her father and her late mother,and today run by her brother. This spirit led to her doggedness in the fashion industry winning her many local and international accolades one of which was her appointment as Nigeria's representative to the United Nations World Food Program 'Catwalk the World: Fashion For Food' with the aim of raising funds towards halving the number of hungry people in the world,especially the children,by 2015. She featured in the 2014 'October 1' widely watched movie, playing the role of Funmilayo Ransome Kuti.

She frequently exhibits her couture collections at the Cape Town Fashion Week and has been an invited guest of New York Fashion Week in the past. She was the first black woman to present a collection at AltaRoma, Rome's celebrated fashion week in 2004. She won the MNET/Anglo Gold African Designs 2000 awards.

             "I didn't choose fashion,it chose me,... I think the only way I've managed is because I know fashion was my destiny. African designers face somany challenges,producing collections and working hard to rise above the manufacturing infrastructure problems. For me,it's about rising to the challenge and I think it's made me a better designer. I feel I produce more intelligent clothing as a result."
